First Day of School..........

Armed with new backpacks, and new carefully picked out first impression clothes,
Madison and Michael headed out this morning for day one of 7th and 8th grade.

None of us can believe how fast this Summer went,
but we're all excited that school is here.

They don't have to walk far to catch the bus, just up the hill and around the corner there.
I thought it would be overkill, and a little cruel, to get actual bus-boarding photos, but don't think I didn't think about it!
I'll save that for Friday when Bren boards the bus for the first time.

I hope this will be a good year for them.
I hope they learn alot and make some quality friends.
Madison was accepted for "leadership" which is a huge honor. She'll be helping to orchastrate assemblies for the school and will be speaking at them.
She'll be in the public eye alot.
I'm so proud of her for applying for that position and being selected!
Michael will be very busy this Fall with football practice everyday and a game once a week.
He's motivated this year so I hope he continues to push hard in his classes.

Zach left early this morning with no fanfare or photos.
It killed me to not snap a few, but I held back for his sake.
He's a big boy now,
but I did see a little bit of worry on his face about the size of the school
( the largest in the state of washington!)
and getting lost.
It made me want to go with him to make sure that he'd be alright.
He's resourceful though, he'll make his way just fine.
I'm sure when he gets home and I ask him how his day was,
he'll look at me like I am silly for having worried about him and he'll say that he handled everything just perfectly.
He's got some great classes lined up so I'm hoping that he will really enjoy this year.

Anyway, again always great to visit your blog.

PS, I gave you a mention in my recent blog entry since the advice you gave me I felt important to share and it gives me inspiration all the time when i have that camera in my hand. Also had another session with Cousin Z ^_^
